Today we launched our Great Big Bishop Road Sponsored Read-a-Thon with the whole school spending an hour of reading! 

The children were encouraged to read from lots of different genres and texts during the hour and all classes received a delivery of brand-new books for their book corner to celebrate the event. We found lots of different ways to read: some classes enjoyed a really calm reading session, some made ‘reading dens’, some teachers even put a virtual fire on the board and had ‘cosy reading’ on the carpet!

We’re looking forward to hearing about all the reading challenges the children will be completing over the next few days and hopefully raising lots of money too!
