Friday 21st March
The first few lessons of our geography topic this term have focused on mountains and mountain ranges. We have learnt about how a mountain is defined and about some of the more famous mountain ranges in the world, such as the Andes, the Himalayas, the Rocky Mountains, the Alps and the Atlas Mountains. For your homework this week, we would like you to focus on an individual mountain, as opposed to a range. We would like you to find out some facts about it, for example how high it is, where it is located, how it was formed and whether it forms part of a range. The exact facts you choose to research are up to you. You might select a mountain from within the UK, such as Ben Nevis or Yr Wyddfa, or look further afield to Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro or Mount Aconcagua.
