Following on from our success at the English Schools’ Swimming Association Primary Team Championships, the wider squad have had a successful swimming season too with around 50 different children taking part during the year across Years 3 to 6!

We were pleased to have two teams in the local swimming league with our A team finishing 3rd overall and our B team competing very well against many other schools’ first teams. We had two friendly fixtures, one with Clifton College and another with Badminton Prep and we were pleased to come away victorious from both of these. The swim season culminated in the Bristol Schools’ Swimming Association Primary Championships. This was a very competitive citywide competition and we competed well and achieved relay finals. The highlights were:-

  • The boys’ freestyle team of Barnaby, Neel, Harvey and Harry winning silver;
  • Barnaby, who won a silver and bronze individual medals in backstroke and freestyle; and
  • Sena who achieved a commendable 4th place in breaststroke.

In the past week, we have run try out sessions for Years 3 to 5 and we look forward to welcoming some new children to the swim squad next school year. There have been so many improvements and some children have been awarded school speed awards ranging from bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Great to see – well done all.
