As the cross country season draws to a close, it is time to reflect on the achievements this year of the Year 5 and 6 Bishop Road cross country runners.

It was a sunny Saturday morning for the Inter Country Area Final, held at Ashton Park School. The children selected for this event had finished top 10 in the round before, beating the best children in North Bristol, to form the North Bristol Cross Country squad.

The children did fantastically, racing against the fastest children from other parts of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The North Bristol Team won the Year 5 girls race, with 3 of our Bishop Road girls finishing top 12. A fantastic achievement. 

Last week, a group of keen cross country runners attended the BGS inter school cross country. The course was long (over 2 miles!) which challenged the children’s mental and physical stamina. The Year 5 girls were triumphant again, winning first place in the team competition and even a first place finisher! Well done everyone.
