This year, we have chosen to shine a spotlight on one of the boys who attended Bishop Road Primary School – Reginald Walton Thomas.
Born in April 1899, he was one of millions of soldiers who left to fight in the First World War and did not come home. He was in the 19th Battalion of the machine gun corps and died on the 19th April 1918 after being hit by enemy fire. Reg was awarded the ‘Victory’ medal and the ‘British Star’ medal for his service.
