Students from the University of the West of England came to visit Year 3 and teach the children all about debating. Children learnt why the skill of debating is so important and how a solid debate is structured. Year 3 then covered controversial debate topics such as ‘Should children choose their own bedtime?’ with, unsurprisingly, lots of convincing answers offered ‘for’ this topic (with not so many given ‘against’!).
