Every year, Year 4 lead the school in an act of remembrance. This year, children will be viewing the service in their classrooms and will observe a 2 minute silence at 11am.

In addition to reciting For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon and In Flanders Fields by John McRCrae, children have painted poppies and recorded a song for the Remembrance Service. Children have looked at how letter writing played an important role in connecting soldiers with loved ones at home, learning about personal stories from their own family history and sharing special photographs and letters in school. Today’s assembly is to honour these family members and all servicemen and women who have lost their lives in wartime.
