This term we have celebrated all things bookish with lots happening in our library sessions. Here’s a short round-up of things the children have enjoyed alongside the author visits, dressing up and classroom activities that took place.

Year 2 have proven themselves to be enthusiastic and responsible book borrowers and they are now allowed to borrow two books from the library!

Year 3 have been designing bookmarks and sharing stories about stories. Lots of them have also been writing their own stories and comics to add to our ‘Bishop Road’s Books’ collection.

Year 4 were introduced to the Online Library, using their own log ins to reserve and review books. Big thank you to the Year 6 Student Librarians who came to help with these sessions.

Year 5 have been creating their own book covers with all sorts of imaginative titles and designs to be put up on display in the library soon.

Year 6 have written to their favourite authors (some whose characters they even dressed up as) – and we’ve already had some amazing responses!

More books than ever have been borrowed from Bishop Road so far in a school year and Miss Robson is delighted with how often the children are using the library and how many books they’ve been enjoying – keep it up!
