Our first live author event since February 2020 was a roaring success! We were so pleased to welcome Ross Welford to speak to our captive Year 6 audience yesterday. Ross spoke about his books, including the latest title ‘When We Got Lost in Dreamland’, gave us all some top tips on how to write a story and even showed us some amazing magic tricks! The children had a chance to join in with creating a story all together and asked some excellent questions too (we now know that Ross’ books have been translated into over 20 languages and he came up with the title of The 1000 Year Old Boy before writing the story!).

Bristol bookshop Storysmith bought along some of Ross’ books which had been pre-ordered and the children were excited to be able to have their books signed and have a chance to ask more questions. (Miss Robson was also pleased to get some signed for the library!)

“The best bit was writing the story with the whole Year Group as Ross used all our ideas”

“I loved seeing him cut the rope in half and put it back together in one piece again – it was magic!”
