Welcome to Bishop Road School’s Home Learning page.

What should my child do if they are isolating but well enough to learn remotely?

Please visit your Class Story page on Class Dojo where you will find daily learning activities. The activities link to topics that your child is learning in school this term, but are designed to be useful and accessible at any point during the term. Some activities refer to the videos posted on this page.

How much work should my child complete each day?

There is guidance for how long children should spend on activities in each year group’s daily plan. According to government guidance, children in KS1 should work for approximately 3 hours with less for younger children, and in KS2, children should be working for 4 hours each day. Children work at different paces and this should be seen as a guide and not a fixed rule for each child every day.

How regularly should I upload my child’s work?

Each day, following your child’s completion of the day’s tasks, please scan or photograph work and upload it to the portfolio section of your child’s Class Dojo account. You must be logged on to your child’s account to access the portfolio. Your child’s teacher will provide feedback. More guidance on how to upload work can be found below.

Keeping in touch

The class teacher will call to speak with your child during their time at home. Should you have any questions, please get in touch via the online contact form or by calling the school office.

Here is a helpful Key Methods Bank to support maths teaching and learning at home!
